A Talk to Pecan Plantation Board of Directors on Dec 18, 2025

Ladies and gentlemen,

The current situation concerning a planned power plant and data center development directly across the Brazos River from Pecan, known as the Pacifico Fort Spunky Development should be the single largest concern of every resident and every board member of this community as it relates to the future flourishment of Pecan.

For a point of reference, please picture a Walmart Supercenter, then make it twice as tall, then multiply the footprint by 2.5X. That is the size of one of these buildings that is being proposed. And based on the rendering I’ve seen, they are planning on building eight of these buildings, accompanied by 16 natural gas powered electricity generating turbines.

That is 16x bigger and 8x closer than the current power plant and data center off Mambrino. Which I can hear in my backyard at 45 decibels, 4 miles away. And again, this facility is going to be 16X larger and 8X closer.

Among the side effects that the people over there and in other areas of the country are already experiences are:

·       Loss of property value, that’s an obvious one

·       Loss of hearing

·       Seizures

·       Low Frequency Cellular Breakdown

·       Loss of bone density in children

·       Loss of Sleep

·       Depression

·       Constant fighting and appeals to the local and state government that will not help them. And almost complete dejection.

One of these gentlemen sat in my living room a month ago and told me how he bought his dream property years ago and now he would not give you $.15 for it. And that they are considering boarding it up and just leaving.

If we do not step up here and heed the warnings, the visual, physical, first-hand evidence of what has just happened down the road, we will be living in a state of oppression the likes of which we never could have imagined.

If this facility is allowed to go in, Pecan will become a ghost town.  There won’t be enough residents to support the facilities and everything we’ve built will erode to nothing.

However, we have started forming a group to fight these things, and if you go to rejectbigtech.com, you can give us your contact info and in the new year, we’ll be getting organized, forming teams and pushing back.

Hood County, unlike other counties, does have some protections from this kind of industrial corporate invasion, specifically sub chapter K of the Texas local government code.  I have been appointed along with Christine Leftwich another Pecan resident to be on the Hood County development commission and my single focus is to get rid of this Pacifico power plant development and any future developments of this kind in Hood County.

I believe we have a path to victory, but we desperately need allies in this fight. We need Pecan plantation to take a hard stance. We need the HOA to take a hard stance.  We need AMUD to take a hard stance. And we need the county to take a hard stance.

No more power plants and no more data centers in Hood County.

I would appreciate it if this board receives any inquiries into this subject that you would direct people to reject big tech.com.  That is a site started by residents of Pecan, run by residents of Pecan, where people can sign up to stay informed and pretty soon, they will be able to sign up to help in specific areas where they have specific skills.

I very much appreciate your attention in the matter.

Thank you
